So I absolutely love this art. It is crazy to make something look 3D when it was drawn on a sidewalk. I know it depends on where one stands to view this "3D" art but either way it shows great talent. Maybe some day I will conquer this deceptive art.

My favorite animation is The Great Mouse Detective. It is by far my favorite Disney movie, especially since Vincent Price is the voice of Ratigan. I really like the mix between the seriousness of a crime investigation with the mice/animal animation. I think the story line is very clever and entertaining. To me, the best animation scene is at the end when they are inside of the clock; it is really neat how they drew out the insides and the way it all moves together in sync.

This is a web art by Ahmd Nadalian.  He said on his website that "A website is not only a place to introduce an art work, but a contemporary way of conveying  ideas and art." I think that it is a really interesting way to make and present artwork.  It is not the typical "art" that has been made for years due to the invention of the internet and the new technological advances. He also states that "In a world in which information is boundless, we are able to publish our works digitally and make them accessible to every one regardless of their physical location." I think that web art is a really unique way to distribute one's individual art work.

I choose this picture because I really like Andy Warhol pieces.  I visited New York City this summer and I went to the Museum of Modern Art and I thought that the Andy Warhol pieces were really cool and unique.  This was an influence on my self portrait piece because of the coloring.  The repetetions and colors make the piece interesting and unique to look at.  It makes me wonder why he decided to make which one a certain color and if there is any reasoning behind it.

rock-abstract-painting.jpg This abstract painting makes me feel like I am in a state of tranquility.  It conveys a sense of calmness because of the brush strokes as well as the colors. The brush strokes have fluidity as the artist made long strokes and combined the colors really well.  They gradually change from one color to another.

This image looks like a river with mountains surrounding it.  Being around water in a secluded area is one of the most peaceful places to be.  The artist demonstrates this peacefulness by their choice of colors: calming blues and sensual purples.

This is an art piece that is digitally composited. I think it's really interesting. Having a tree house is something that I've always envied but this piece puts a twist on the average tree house. The way the artist has the walk way still present is really cool. I'm not too sure what the figure is in the bottom left, but I believe it is a body. However, I'm not sure of the purpose of it. Since the piece is in grayscale, it gives it an eerie feel. This once again puts another twist on the average tree house.

Project One

For my first project, I am creating a nightmare using photos that I took on a snowy night.  I am going to use a young woman's petrified face and incorporate the outside pictures in her eyes and mouth.  These pictures will represent what she saw and what haunted her in her slumber.  Viewer discretion is advised:)

Hello everybody! My name is Sarah Buschmann, and I was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. Indianapolis has been a very big influence on my life; I believe it is a perfect combo between city and suburbs. I was pretty much the only child growing up as my older sister is 11 years older than me (right when I was heading into kindergarten, she was heading off to college). However, I grew up basically with all boys--the neighborhood boys. I would not have wanted that any other way actually, I learned to stick up for my self.
The most influential and inspiring thing for me is definitly music. My dad pretty much sculpted my love for music. He grew up in the 60's and 70's so I am a little more biased for that music than today's. I believe that music can change a person's life, change a mood, make them realize there's something more. I feel that music brings people together, something to share with, something to bond about. There is always a song that someone can relate to, whether it be the lyrics or the way it makes a person feel.
Then there is art. I've taken art my whole life and each year I find something new to do. Perhaps that is why I am taking this class, trying to expand my ideas of how art can be portrayed. One of my favorite things to do is to just sit in my room, close the door, blast some music, and paint.
