Hello everybody! My name is Sarah Buschmann, and I was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. Indianapolis has been a very big influence on my life; I believe it is a perfect combo between city and suburbs. I was pretty much the only child growing up as my older sister is 11 years older than me (right when I was heading into kindergarten, she was heading off to college). However, I grew up basically with all boys--the neighborhood boys. I would not have wanted that any other way actually, I learned to stick up for my self.
The most influential and inspiring thing for me is definitly music. My dad pretty much sculpted my love for music. He grew up in the 60's and 70's so I am a little more biased for that music than today's. I believe that music can change a person's life, change a mood, make them realize there's something more. I feel that music brings people together, something to share with, something to bond about. There is always a song that someone can relate to, whether it be the lyrics or the way it makes a person feel.
Then there is art. I've taken art my whole life and each year I find something new to do. Perhaps that is why I am taking this class, trying to expand my ideas of how art can be portrayed. One of my favorite things to do is to just sit in my room, close the door, blast some music, and paint.
